This problem could be language specific. I have Finnish language version (Windows 10 Pro x64).

    1. Windows login. The OneDrive icon won't even appear right after login into Windows for the first time (local nor Microsoft ID). So basically right after sysprep you create Windows account and then login into Windows - there is no OneDrive icon. Even if I try to start OneDrive from all programs it won't start - nothing happens. There should be OneDrive wizard starting where you could enter OneDrive login info etc. but nothing.

After some testing I got it to start by manually executing OneDriveSetup.exe in user's folder /AppData/Local/Microsoft/OneDrive/17.3.5892.0626 but I don't think this is the way it should be.

    2. The iso-image that I used was downloaded with Microsoft's tool (MediaCreationToolx64.exe) after 29th of July so it should be RTM-iso.

Even if I let Windows download all updates in audit mode and then use sysprep OneDrive won't work with newly created users - and then Windows Search won't work either.
That's crazy. I really don't know what process makes the OneDrive icon appear.

    Hey Kari,

Do you think it's the Windows install an active network connection, or windows being activated in audit mode that's causing the broken search bar with CopyProfile true? Or both?

Kari, are you still having problems with the network being connected? I haven't experienced any issue on RTM.
Not every time. My recommendation is based on my simple test results: I occasionally end in the OOBE reboot loop after the Sysprep when Windows has been installed with network connection but never have any issues when installation itself is done not connected and the network is first connected in Audit Mode.

Welp I'm still having the same issue with copyprofile true breaking search bar after a CU is applied. Once that CU is on the system and a new account is created, search bar is an unresponsive broken waste of space. If I remove the CU all is well.

Could this be a bug? I've tried only applying the CU on the image before capture, I've tried only applying the CU with DISM to the .wim , I've tried only applying the CU after loading to the desktop after OSD. All I can say is no matter what stage I introduce the CU, if copyprofile = true, then it = broken search bar on new account creation.

I tried from a fresh install on a VM and didn't activate windows this time, still same result.

    I'm stuck.

Looks like no Windows 10 deployment for us for a while.

I had the same experience. I mentioned earlier that if you also remove the updates at any point, it fixes both new and existing profiles. It is definitely a problem with updates.

Has anyone reported it in the Feedback app? If so, please let me know so that I can upvote it.

I did in the "Cortana and search/ Cortana Search UI" section. I may have been too wordy, but I reported it about 5 days ago

Will take a look later today. Thanks.

On a side note, has anyone tried updating to a new build in Audit Mode? Or is that even possible to test yet because only new Insider (not public) builds are available right now?

KB3081438 is broken too, but KB3081444 seems to be fine

I am fully testing KB3081444, but it does appear to be fixed. However, you do still have to uninstall KB3081438 or KB3081436, for some reason...

    Update:
After more testing, CopyProfile only works for me as long as the CU isn't applied. On my test image I've run copyprofile and avoided updates. After deployment and a new AD account is created on the machine, that user account wont have the broken search bar problem. If I then run updates on that same account the search bar will still work. However, when I logon with another user account after the CU has been applied, the search bar for that new profile is broken.

I have the same problem. I have been advised to try removing copyprofile from the unattend.xml when creating the image and add it again, when applying the image. I am very exited, if that works.

    Kim

Okay, just testet this. It dosent work.

But I just removed the Copyprofile, and everything works. Guess you dont need the copyprofile, when you created the image in auditmode.
