This is what happens when i paste the command in to Powershell in an elevated state:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32> %SystemRoot%\System32\Cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:65535 "&" Cleanmgr /sagerun:65535
%SystemRoot%\System32\Cmd.exe : The module '%SystemRoot%' could not be loaded. For more information, run
    'Import-Module %SystemRoot%'.

    + %SystemRoot%\System32\Cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:65535 "&" Cleanmgr ...

    Hello Danny, :)

You'll need to run the command in an elevated command prompt instead of PowerShell.

In Audit mode, if I write the cleanmgr /sageset:65535 /sagerun:65535 command instead of the %SystemRoot%\system32\cleanmgr /sageset:65535 /sagerun:65535 command from the elevated Command Prompt, would I get to the same thing?

    Thanks

Hi Brink, I ran Disk cleanup, it found about 3 GB of Windows updates backup files. I checked the option to delete those files. After about 15 minutes the process ended and Disk cleanup closed. There was no message of any kind. I rebooted the laptop and after reboot I have the same 812GB of available space as I had before running Disk cleanup. I looked at the uninstallers available for Windows updates and I can tell that a couple were removed. Remember, I have a new laptop and not many updates appear in the list. I also ran Disk cleanup again and the 3GB dont appear anymore.

Is there an explanation? Can you figure out anything to make sense of this?

    Hello Bo, :)

You might check to see if the options in the tutorial below may be able to help find where the space is at, and possibly free up some more space.

Theres really very little space to free up. What i cant figure is why I didnt gain any free space after supposedly cleaning 3GB of Windows updates backups. Is it possible that the amount detected by Disk cleaner was just wrong, and it cleaned up some space but a lot less? Right now I have about same free space I had immediately before updating to 15063.540. If that update took about 800MB of space, then probably thats about what Disk cleanup actually free up for me. This is no big deal and wont break my head pondering about it but like to make sense of it if possible. Thanks, Brink. :)

I must admit that I'm not sure why the drive didn't show the regained space.

You might use the tutorial below to see how much space is being used by the Component Store to see if it's still large.

If it is, then you could use Option 3 below to clean it to see if the space actually returns afterwards.
