Will be calling Toshiba next. Need more coffee first.

Nothing is working. Nothing. 15 years of tech knowledge and I've got nothing.
Ok Marti, I'll be around if I can be of any more help. I am on my 3rd cup already. :) Toshiba SHOULD be able to help. I don't know how good their tech support is, I just figure they should be able to help you out. Maybe one of their tech's can log in by remote access and do the needed repairs.

    Thanks Anyway.

I'm thinking about del the entire directory for the only user names I have (one to connect to Microsoft and the other a Local and perhaps create an admin dir which will force it (hopefully) to make me create a new password and actually create the Admin user. Or I could be locked out permanently.

Hmmm ... think I'll call Toshiba first! LOL

Been up since 3 am this time. Need to walk away. Just walk away!

    Thanks.

I DO understand Marti, as I know how computers can drive a person nuts, trust me, I know. Good idea to take a break. Would love it if you could report back later....with either good news or bad......lots of other folks on here that I KNOW can help you IF Toshiba can't. Always more than one way to solve problems. Deleting user names would worry me a lot thou. I would not try that....:)

Hello Marti, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through.

When you tried OPTION FOUR, did you boot from a Windows 10 installation USB to open a command prompt at boot from?

From what I found out after chatting with Marti, he doesn't seem to have any Windows 10 installation disk Shawn.
Also can't make one, because he has no admin rights. Far as I know now, he is trying to contact Toshiba tech support to see if they can help him. Brand new laptop, so I'm thinking they should help him out for free.

    I hope they can help.

If he has another computer (friend?) to use, he could create the installation USB on it to use on his.

hello, I have tried the first three options listed here to Remove Administrator Account from log in screen but after I restart the Admin account option is still there, at one time the log in screen was showing two Admin accounts and my own account made at set up. I don't know any more how, but I managed to delete one of the two Administrator accounts, (probably using above mentioned methods) I was having sleep/wake problems and that is why I decided to delete admin accounts, I don't know if this was the solution but sleep/wake problems seem to have gone? all help appreciated for deleting Admin account, thanks.

    Hello wbhworld, :)

This tutorial will only affect the built-in Administrator account, and not normal user accounts that are administrators.

You would want to have at least one administrator account on the computer to be able to perform any actions that require administrator rights (ex: "Run as administrator).
