Hi Brink, I followed your guide with great success.
But today Windows wanted to do an update so I let it update and reboot.

    Now to the problem:
I can still use my admin account but I have lost all my admin rights (can't even rename non-OS files).

Update is called KB4103721 or v17134.48

Is there a way to reactivate the admin account without losing all data?

I have tried option 1, 2, 3 and 4 and everything looks as it should = no error messages.

Hello trasman, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Do you have another administrator account on the PC that you can use other than the built-in "Administrator"?

No I don't. Normal administrator account doesn't do anything for me as it doesn't allow me to do the most basic stuff with my computer. That's why your guide really helped me.
I remember only using the elevated administrator account on my Windows 7 install as well before upgrading.

In that case, you could try using Option 5 to enable the built-in Administrator at boot.

Just tried option 5 but the value was already 10 )=

Please let me know if you know or uncover anything. I don't know how long I will last without any permissions to my own computer. At least it looks like you can uninstall the update (=

Ok. Let's see if you are able to do a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before this update was installed to undo it and hopefully fix your permissions issue.

So... basically I was in full blown tears, couldn't rename/delete files without a nag screen , autostart program didn't start at boot, my xbox one control acted really weird, programs which writes to C:\ (Windows 10) drive stopped working properly and the list goes on and on.

But I have found the(/one) solution:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/System/Enable LUA = 0
