Hi all
Just a quick one. When I first used the Move To registry entry, I was moving files exclusively to a local hard drive and it would always remember the last location I moved to. Recently I moved to a NAS and it no longer remembers the last selected folder. Does anyone know of a way to get the behaviour back? I am using mapped drive letters btw.
Cheers :)
Hello,
I've always found that the last save/open location to be a bit finicky. Especially if it's an external or network location. You may need to save/open from the location a few times before it gets remembered. If you lose connection to the mapped drive, then it could also cause that location to no longer be remembered.
Is there also a way to add "Copy to.." and "Move to.." specific folders?
For example, one has half a dozen frequently used destinations, like x:\Docx x:\Xlsx x:\PDF x:\Images, etc.
Then from some other folder, elsewhere on the PC, select files, r-click and 'Move to' Docx
(without having to browse thru the folder tree or so)
Thanks.
Hey mate,
As a workaround to copy/move to a specific folder, you could add a shortcut of the folder to the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo folder, and use the Send to context menu.
To move, click on Send to, press and hold the Shift key, and click/tap on <specific folder>.
Add or Remove Items in Send To context menu in Windows
Too bad Quick Access is not in the "Copy/Move Items" dialog to make it easier to select a specific folder from Quick Access.
