    Brink,

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files KB929833 was updated last year and now advises the use of Dism before running SFC.

So you might wish to amend Option 3 to reflect the new guidance.

By the way, the new version explicitly acknowledges that DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth uses WU to find replacement files. So that's progress.

    Thank you Denis.

I still only like to run DISM if SFC failed.

Trying to do option 1 but under diskpart list volume, there is only c and no other drive letters for the other partitions on c.

    Hello Snakefist,

That's ok. You would use the "C" drive letter for both in the command since that's all you have.

Thank you, but i'm getting this error.

    C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\windows

The arguments passed to sfc are invalid. The offline windows directory
specified points to the online system.
