This is very interesting Brink, I didn't know that. So, on computers with low ram, (I'm on using 4gb on my 3 your old laptop), I would be wise to stop using the hibernate? Windows 10 removed hibernate after I accidentally ran my laptop down to 5% and it was missing upon restart.
Should I just not use hibernate? Is it OK to just shut down the laptop when finished with it, say for an hour, then turn it back on? I am using an SSD if that matters for the answer.

I have always used hibernate, but after reading about how much ram it occupies, I may stop. I was just wondering about the "full shut down" and turning back on, if that would shorten the life of the components (electronics) of the computer. Always was a big debate over that if I remember...
OK, no problem. I wonder why Windows removed "Hibernate" after I let the laptop run down to "nothing". I think I read the MS doesn't want us using Hibernate.
I guess I'll re-enable it. It comes in very handy if you're working on a lot of "stuff" and don't want to close it all out, if you need to leave the computer for awhile.
Agreed. Hibernate can be very useful for that.
If the battery gets critically low, it will shut down by default instead of hibernate.

anywhere (checked hidden).
How do I delete/clean it to save some extra space.
