You could try navigating to C:\Users\{yourname}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\RecentItems and rummage through there to see if you can find it.

In addition, if you opened the file with a program, some programs have a last opened type history feature. If it does, that may help find it.

Do you know what file type (ex: ".pdf) the file is? If so, you could do a search for it (ex: "*.pdf") to see if a file name may stand out in the search results.

Hello is there anyway to increase recent file list files?
I mean now It's limited to 20, I want to whoop it until 30-40 items. Is that possible? Thank you.

    Hello Ben,

Not that I'm aware of, but as a workaround, you could Pin to Quick Access the %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent folder for a quick way to see all your recent items.

You could pin the folder to Quick Access if it helps any.
