    Good afternoon
OS and software: Windows 10, MS Office 2013.
After uninstalling Internet Explorer 11: Tracking of hyperlinks in the body of emails leads to message box with error error message. Setting Firefox or Edge as the default browser does not help.

    Hello ber999, :)

What do you currently have shown as the default for the .URL file type?

By default, it should be set to "Internet Browser".

    Good afternoon Brink,

thank you very much for the answer.
The default for the .URL file type is set to "Internet Browser".
But, I have set Edge as default.

Now, I want to remove the Internet Browser from the System.

    Best regards

Does it work properly again if you add IE back?

If you go to Apps & features (in Settings) and click on Manage optional features, you are given the option to "Uninstall" Internet Explorer 11 (even if you've already turned it off in the Control Panel).

If you click "Uninstall", the option to turn it back on in the Control Panel disappears.

    Thank you @Ground Sloth.

When I click on Uninstall for Internet Explorer 11 in Optional features, it doesn't do anything for me though.

This is with IE11 turn on and off in Windows Features.

I unchecked it in the "Turn Windows Features on or off" (made me reboot), then went to Manage Optional Features and clicked uininstall and it is gone.

It is no longer in the "Turn windows features on or off" nor the Manage optional features list.

When I clicked on uninstall, it was removed from the list. And in optional feature history it said that the uninstall succeeded. But after rebooting my computer, I was given the option (in Optional features) to reinstall IE11. Reinstalling IE11 didn't turn it back on, but the option to turn it on reappeared in Windows Features.
