Please forgive my intrusion, essenbe, but where can I go to find the IE I had many years ago? It doesn't show in my Programs & Features. I have Firefox with which I'm ok, but because I'm having problems with transferring photos, I was suggested to install IE, but if it's somewhere in my computer maybe I can find it instead of struggling to try to install it?
Again I'm sorry to intrude in this thread and thanks so much for your help. :)

Thank you so much Brink!!! I found it and pinned it in my taskbar, so I'll have both browsers. What I didn't find was the column at the left in the Start page. When I got Win10 I started moving/deleting around the content and I lost most of it. Have been searching very frantically to find out if there was a way to restitute that Start page as when it came with, but never got any answer. If by chance you know how, ill appreciate it a lot to let me know? No rush, I lived with this since I got Win10 so I can wait more..... lol! Again thanks so much! Adela

Oh thanks so much for the Edge Startup page for W10! I’ll go and try to see if I can reinstate that page on my computer, after I fix the IE matter.

Yes, the IE I pinned in my taskbar won't open when I click on it. It works when I go to your site, but when I close your site and I want to open the IE to do other things, it won’t open. When I right-click it says: "IE add-on installer" and "Unpin from taskbar". Any ideas?

Is it because I didn't make it the default browser? I wasn’t sure if I should since I intend to use both browsers, but just the same I wanted to do it but didn't find the place for it. Any other ideas why this IE won’t open now? Thank you again.

Yep, you'll need to make Internet Explorer the default browser if you want website shortcuts to open in IE11.

In addition, double check to make sure that you pinned "Internet Explorer" like step 4 below.

THANK YOU Brink for ALL your great help, especially for making sure I do what's necessary to get the right result. I was able to make it the default and also to pin it in the taskbar the right way!

Of course, when I want to use Firefox (which will be the majority of the times....) will I have to make a default of this one too? So then will I have 2 defaults? Or will I have to de-default the IE?

    Thanks again!!! :) Adela

P.S. I forgot to ask you if you happen to know the meaning of this window I get from time to time entitled: "Use recommended security and compatibility settings" referring to the IE 11. And it has a greyed out "OK" and "Ask me Later"...... Thanks.

    Adela,

You will only be able to have one the web browses as the default to open websites with.

However, you can use "Open with" and just click on a listed web browser to temporarily open sites you want with the non default web browser at anytime. Just be sure to leave Always use this app to open unchecked to prevent making it the default app.

Edit: That box is to adjust your settings for IE11 if wanted. It's best to leave it set to recommended.

I'm very grateful for your help. Now with the IE I was able to transfer the photos. I'll also keep in mind how to handle both browsers. I'm going to keep the URL of this thread so if happens again I'll have the info handy. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!
