Tutorial updated for Windows 10 build 18956.![]()
I have tried a lot of fixes before I post, but none fix that unfortunately.
I tried:
- Run the network troubleshooter several times.
- Resetting the wireless driver as suggested by the troubleshooter.
- Reinstall the driver.
- Updating the wireless driver.
- Run the System File Checker "SFC".
In that case, you might consider trying a repair install to see if it may fix this without losing anything.
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
I think that is the only option I have, I will give it a go later.
I have been searching and found that the files related to data consumption under "C:\Windows\System32\sru" are there, and after I delete them they are reinitiated.
That means the Data Usage is working I guess, but why it's not showing?
-- Edit --
I remembered that I used a program which alters system configs called "O&O ShutUp10" and I used all the recommended settings.
I don't know if it has something to do with this issue ,I gave it another look but didn't spot any option related to data usage.
Hi Brink,
So I have just performed a repair install as you advised, but I still don't have the option "Data Usage" available under the settings on the left menu!!
Now thankfully I can set the connection as a "metered connection" and I can view "Data Usage" from the status tab.
But there is no dedicated tab to the "Data Usage" as it was before.
Any thoughts on that?
