Fortunately, I have the old tool available as well, so I can compare the scripts and fix it myself. In addition, I think I am going to add a few features myself - namely to specify in the created DVD name whether it is ESD or WIM based (So if I post the ISO for someone to DL they don't waste time DLing it only to find that they cannot use it).

I just now updated my tool as well. I noticed that it now does not writ the .ISO filename as it used to. Interesting.
The current file naming is in my opinion more descriptive:
    language_windows_10_edition_buildnumber_bitversion_dvd.iso
    , for instance
    en-gb_windows_10_14965_pro_ x64_dvd.iso.

True. I can agree to that versus the old method. And sorting will still put them in the correct order as everything before the build number would be the same going forward.

But differentiation for install method would be a bonus.

I was using the older toolset until just now. Since it never had issues with my .ESD files I didn't look for an update to the script.

If the .ESD file hadn't been deleted I wouldn't have know it had been updated even now.

I see. I'm not sure when, but there was a point back a couple months ago where the ISO would be created without error, but fail to work correctly for installs or repairs. Maybe @Kari can remember when that was. So, if the ISO were successfully created and never really used/tested, all may have appeared ok. I believe that's why Kari posts a reminder that if the date of your ESDtoISO tool is before 7/01/16, get a fresh one.

Yeah. I am up to date now. I've also deleted all the old .ISOs as I have no interest in going back to builds previous to AU anyway.

Yeah, I found an error in ISO creation process on June 5th, posted about it in this post. It took me some time to fix the cryptokeys in tool, posted about it on June 16th (see the red warning box in below quote):

    PLEASE NOTICE:

The tool and the method in this tutorial work without issues with the latest Insider Build 14366 ESD file, released yesterday.

The tool has been updated 10 days ago, on June 5th. In case your tool is older please delete it from your PC simply by deleting the folder it was extracted to and download the updated tool. Download link in the first post (step 1.3).

Although the old version will create a functioning ISO image which will allow you to install Windows 10, there's a bug in ISO creation process that leaves out the repair console, meaning you can not boot to repair options if / when necessary. This bug has been fixed in updated tool.

More information about the bug in previous version of the tool can be read in this post.

A reminder, do this to copy the upgrade ESD file to a safe please:

1.) If Windows Update shows Install now button after downloading the build upgrade, click / tap it to extract upgrade files to $WINDOWS.~BT folder (install.esd file is not ready yet):
2.) When Windows Update shows you the upgrade is ready to be started, Restart now button is shown. Do not click / tap it yet:
3.) In File Explorer, open the C: drive. If the $WINDOWS.~BT folder is not shown, select View > Hidden items to show it:
4.) Open the $WINDOWS.~BT folder, open subfolder Sources, copy install.esd file and paste it anywhere outside the $WINDOWS.~BT and other Windows system folders:
That's it. You can now start the upgrade restarting PC, the install.esd is saved and you can use it after the upgrade to create an ISO image.

Gotcha. Seeing as I never did anything about that then, I have now. I've deleted all previously generated .ISOs with the old toolset, and have stared fresh.

ISTR even replying at the time, but I must have forgotten about it later on - I had ISOs going back to a year ago lol. Freed up nearly 150 GB of spade, to boot

OK, so I never did this before. Is everyone saying that if my ESDtoISO is June 15th and I select option 1 I will be OK and have the install/repair functions working?

    Thank you all.
