    I'm attempting to change the label on the disk and can't do it. I've tried it several different ways with administrative privileges and it still says I lack the necessary authority to do it. Not a big deal but I'm just really puzzled why.
    You are talking about disk which is a bit confusing. If you have burned the ISO to disk, you cannot of course change the name of it. You cannot change a name of a CD or DVD. The same if you have mounted the ISO file as virtual DVD.

    You can open the script (ESDtoISO.cmd) in Notepad and edit it. Browse halfway through the script until you find the below section, then change the WIN10TP part (highlighted) to anything you want to., leave out the bit version (blue) and language (green) if you wish.

    Save the script with extension .cmd and run it again to creat an ISO with any name you want to.
    Code:
    if "%arch%"=="x86" set arch=X86
    if "%arch%"=="x64" set arch=X64
    set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%
    if "%editionid%"=="CoreSingleLanguage" set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%
    if "%editionid%"=="ProfessionalWMC" set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%
    if "%editionid%"=="CoreCountrySpecific" set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%
    if "%editionid%"=="Core" set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%
    if "%editionid%"=="CoreN" set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%
    if "%editionid%"=="Professional" set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%
    if "%editionid%"=="ProfessionalN" set DVDLABEL=W10TP_%arch%_%langid%

    I caught that in the script after the .iso file was created. I was unable to change the label on the created .iso and just wondered why. I burned it to a USB and created the proper label there but I was just curious why it kept saying I lacked proper authorization (attempted with administrative privileges).

    Not a big deal at all just a bit puzzling and thought you might have the answer.

    I tried to reproduce your issue, can't do that. Works like the charm for me, I can change the name of the ISO file as I expected, totally normally.

    Selecting rename and typing the new name:

    The name will be changed as soon as I hit Enter, without any errors or messages about missing rights:

    Of course if the ISO is mounted as a virtual DVD, which in Windows 8 and later can be done simply by double clicking it, it acts as any DVD and do not allow the name change:

    Also, and again of course, if you try to change the name of the ISO when it is stored in system protected areas (drive C: root, Program Files and Windows folders and so on), you have to provide built-in administrator credentials in order to rename. Do this simply by clicking Continue:

    I can change the name of the file as well; it's the label I can't change. Not really an issue; I'll just tweak your script if I need to make the conversion again.

    Not having any luck with 10041.

    ESDtoISO fails both in Win10 and Win8 - source is corrupt or invalid, followed by DISM parameter error.
    I have two downloaded update folders - the first failed to update, a reboot did not offer the install, only the download, so I pulled another one down.

    10041.0.150313-1821.fbl_impressive_CLIENTPRO_RET_x64fre_en-us.esd
    2,425,924 bytes - seems small

    I'm not that worried about it, I'll try updating the VHD in a VM and / or running the ESDtoISO commands by hand just to see what's going on.

    I also tried the v4 version - unchanged with all options. Also failed - both esd files and on both Win8 and Win10.

    Hi Peeps

    Note for Windows build 10041 FROM 9926 you need to do the following

    1) In the updates - just Download the new build DO NOT INSTALL - exit the dialog when you see the box Install Now.
    2) Install.esd file is in C:\$Windows~BT\sources
    3) easy way to find it is search the C drive in Windows explorer with .ESD My file is around 2.31GB - simply then copy the file to where you can process it with the utility.

    The .WIM file is in the recovery folder now - not the.ESD file.

    Note - your PC might prompt you for a restart to install the update you've downloaded -- set it for say 8 hrs so you won't be bothered with the update for a while.

    The first thing the ESD utility does is back up the original file and then it gets to work.

    Then it appies image, then exporting image to a new boot.wim file

    I copied all mine to a separate HDD before I started.

    Cheers
