    Well...

I've given a repair install a go, and first I have to say I'm very pleasantly surprised in just how good it seems to be. Essentially everything looks identical (apart from having to apply your reg font size files) and curiously (very very curiously) a missing IE tile from my start menu.

You want to know about the problem... well it seems nothing has changed. The timestamp showing 19:00pm is when the PC was still in the install phase and doing its final reboots, in fact that time stamp is before the desktop appeared and I clicked on anything. The following errors after that are when I manually restarted

So a puzzle. I'm pleased I tried the repair install though as I had always wondered exactly how a system would end up.

Do you have any installed extensions that could be causing Microsoft Edge to crash?

    No, nothing like that.

What I think I will do is just wait until 1809 is back on the market and then make new installation media and see what happens. As I say, in use its super slick (the whole OS) and doesn't give a hint of anything amiss.
