    You are correct... It's not like there was any question about that , I just needed to figure out where I went wrong?

Doing so changed the web search settings for the admin, but not for the currently logged in UID. No harm done, just need to pay more attention to the tutorial next time...

    On the other hand, changing the "
    HKEY_USERS" hive with appropriate SID works just as well. The mistake opened up an other venue to control the web search...

    Ah, ok. I bet that was confusing at first wondering why it applied it to your admin account.

    Honestly, it wasn't really confusing since I very seldom logon to my admin account. Your correction made me think and after awhile, it has become a "duh moment"...
