    Hello Ciantic,

The last command you got an error for was to make sure the DCOM Server Process Launcher service was set to have its startup type as "Automatic" (default).

Did you restart the computer right after running the .bat file?
    Hello!

I checked, the DCOM Server Process Launcher is already set auto and is running.

Yes, I have ran the script three times now (booted right after each time), it's handy even if it just clears the ETL files. For several update tries I have collected log entries that are similar, only thing that seems to stay constant in log files is line

    Code:
    Update status code is 0xD000002D
    Update is not committed yet
    ...
    boot 1, undoing changes
    ...
    2018.10.12 17.16.08.1461981 3484 4664 Misc *FAILED* [8024000C] LoadHistoryEventFromRegistry completed
    ...
    Update status code is 0x800F0922
    Failed to install the update
And I see error 0x800F0922 in the Windows Update Dialog.

Error 0x800F0922 could mean that your PC doesn’t have enough free space in the System Reserved partition, or that it couldn’t connect to the Windows Update servers for some reason.

If the later, you could try updating during non peak hours to see how it does.

If you use a VPN, try turning it off.

I had to register just to say a big THANK YOU sir, you saved me.
I tried a lot of different things and none would work except this one.
My problem was that my windows update was stuck at "Pending download", and after troubleshooting I manage to find out that some files are corrupted.
Now windows update is working as it's supposed to do.
    Thanks again!

    hi,

This command "del /s /q /f "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat" is failing .You said it is normal to see messages about missing files here however my laptop is returning a access denied message at the registry delete commands is that normal ? i do right click "run as administrator" and i unblocked the batch file.

    Hello,

It's not uncommon to get a few errors when it's trying to delete files at that location.

Was it still able to reset Windows Update for you?

    Hello Shawn,
I've been stuck with my update issue for a wile now, so I decided to finally tackle it. My issue is that I keep getting the message that my 1803 update is reaching EOL and it will not update. I've been running windows 10 on this machine since Windows 10 came out, and this is the first time it does not update successfully

I've tried the troubleshooting by deleting the update folder, that didn't work
Now I tried your BAT file, and while it did perform some tasks, it gave me some errors that it could not find some registries (see below). I cannot capture the entire results because it closes right after it ends. It does not resolve the issue.
Would you have any additional feedback on how to correct this?
    Thank you
