How to Turn On or Off Let Apps Access and Send Email in Windows 10

Starting in Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10547, you can turn on or off to let apps access and send email, and also choose individual apps that can access and send email.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off to let all or individual apps access and send email in your account in Windows 10.

Note   Note
This will only apply to installed Windows Store apps and not desktop apps (programs).

To Turn On or Off Let Apps Access and Send Email

1. Open Settings, and click/tap on the Privacy icon.

2. Do step 3 (on) or step 4 (off) below for what you would like to do.


 3. To Turn On Let Apps Access and Send Email

NOTE: This is the default setting.

A) Click/tap on Email on the left side, and turn on Let apps access and send email on the right side under Email. (see screenshot below)

B) If you like, you can also do Option Two below to turn on or off individual apps to let access and send email.

C) When finished, go to step 5 below.

 4. To Turn Off Let Apps Access and Send Email

A) Click/tap on Email on the left side, turn off Let apps access and send email on the right side under Email, and go to step 5 below.. (see screenshot below)

5. When finished, you can close Settings if you like.

To Turn On or Off Individual Apps that can Access and Send Email

Note   Note
This option requires that Let apps access and send email is turned on in Option One above.


1. Open Settings, and click/tap on the Privacy icon.

2. Click/tap on Email on the left side. Under Choose apps that can access and send email on the right side, turn on or off individual apps for what you want. (see screenshot below)

3. When finished, you can close Settings if you like.
