@Matthew Wai
Your suggests work! Thank you very much. I am assuming I need to keep the "HKCR\bamajon1974" in the registry, correct?
Delete it and see what will happen. Add it back afterward.
The trial-and-error approach is safe in this case.
Always create a system restore point before playing with Windows Registry.
Add Create Restore Point Context Menu in Windows 10
I added some dashes in front of the HKCR\bamajon1974 key (rather than just delete the key) and the contacts new menu entry disappeared. Reappeared when I removed the dashes so it seems the HKCR\bamajon key is necessary.
Just for my own information, how did you figure out this workaround or what is the rationale behind creating HKCR\bamajon1974 key and referencing the HKCR\.contact key to the previously createded key?
I did not figure out the workaround. I just plagiarized the rationale from other items on the context menu. Take "Rich Text Document" for example.
HKCR\.rtf
The above key will refer to the following key:
HKCR\rtffile
The default value data of "HKCR\rtffile" is "Rich Text Document", the displayed item.
When you click on "Rich Text Document" on the context menu, a new .rtf file will be created.
My "create new txt-file" dissapeard but your reg-file fixec it. Thank you very much !!!
