    Thank you.
    When you say :
I guess you mean where you go into the properties of a folder and choose another location.

What I meant was that the "Storage settings" must be new and did not exist before the last Windows10 build update.
This will make it much easier in the future to change the location of your folders. But you have to do it before putting anything in any folder.

    Anyway thanks for the help.
I think I know how to solve my double documents issue but it will be a bit complicated
Correct, I meant for the properties.

"Storage Settings" has been with Windows 10 from the start, but its settings page has been updated a few times with some minor changes.

Agreed. You will need to use Storage Settings before anything is in the original folder since nothing gets moved, but you can always manually move files to the new location.

I got a brand new SSD im going to use as my Main OS drive, so im downloading the programs I got on my computer atm, and im going to back those up to an external drive. Then when the OS is installed onto the SSD, I plan on using a 2 TB SSHD I got from ebay to be where everything else goes (documents, videos, installed programs, etc...)

when I install a program, it either installs itself to the program files (x86) folder, or the program files folder on the designated C: drive; if I go to "change where new content is saved" and change the path from "Local Disk/This PC(C:)" to the other SSHD which I believe will be designated as the D: drive if I'm right, will it auto-create the Program Files/Program Files (x86) folder directories along with the other folders that come with it, or will I have to manually create the program files folders myself?

    Hello mate,

The "New apps" setting in "Change where new content is saved" is only for Microsoft Store apps.

No, there will not be Program Files or Program Files (x86) created on the D: or Data drive unless you create them. I find it easy enough just to do a Custom install where you can specify the drive and in the dialog box for location delete what is not needed to keep D:\Program Name. But you could create a My Programs folder and specify that for the destination of the install.

im just trying to get all of this squared away, so I can make sure that all of it goes good and doesnt pear-shape on me; I had a small scare of an inaccessible boot device BSOD error the day before yesterday, solved that by booting into safe mode and back into normal boot, so understandably im trying to cover all my bases

before I did the prepping, I made a macrium reflect backup of my C: drive in-case it all gets real, but I would REALLY like to win just one damn auction on ebay for a 2 tb ssd, preferably an NVME drive, but nooooooo, the other auctioneers gotta jump the price up to spite me, hate them so much, dang last minute bets
