    I've never considered using a bootable flash drive as multi-purpose.

    I might install Linux on it later.

    Yup! I've used Rufus as long as I've been making my own ISOs.

    I bought four 8 GB USB drives for a few bucks and have dedicated those to my ISOs.
    I have no bucks to buy one.

    Hmmmm, wonder if that would work with Rufus and the ISO for Windows 10?

    So, you're using the USB drives kind of like I use my External drives.

    My USB hard drive is also bootable. It has Linux Mint, via which I can access the Internet.

    @Brink -- I have a quick off topic question....

    Not to resurrect a thread from the past...But if one wanted to create a Win7 ISO that was both UEFI + BIOS bootable, can we follow the step 11 of this thread you created but still have no issue installing Windows 7 on a PC with a BIOS firmware?

    Meaning, does creating the bootx64.efi file prevent the install from working on a Win7 BIOS setup?

    Hello @KabyBlue,

    You should be able to install Windows 7 with or without UEFI using the USB from that method.

    It damaged my USB drive

    The CDROM worked but then I tried the bootable USB drive and it damaged it. I lost all the information and I couldn't even format it. I had to buy another drive!

    Hello Mike,

    I'm not sure what you are referring to from the tutorial. Could you provide more details?
