Does this method keep all installed programs like a repair install or do you need to reinstall previous programs?

    Hello Steve, :)

This method only keep the existing user accounts and personal files in each account's user profile folder. Everything else will be wiped out.

    I can't confirm 100%, but since this isn't an upgrade, it shouldn't create a Windows.old folder.

    Ok. Thanks.

BTW what are "personal files"? Are we talking the (My) Documents folder, Favorites, Music, etc... ?

We're having a debate here and trying to determine which procedure is best for the OP to try and save his files.

BTW ten forums seems to be very popular there :)

    Thanks.

That's correct. It's all the files in the My folders in "C:\Users\(user name)" folder.

I'd say either this option or refresh Windows may be a good option for the OP.
