Yes well I suppose that is a plus David but being a bit pedantic I reckon I paid for a Pro machine I should be entitled to a 10 Pro version eh?For me, the Group Policy editor is important, i would want Pro for that feature.

I agree, you paid for Pro, you should get a 10 Pro upgrade version.
I just pointed out what's most important to me, and why i would do whatever i can to get the Pro version.
Yes David mate I just had time to read the Group Policy stuff and really it probably would not have any advantage to me I am more interested in general security than ability to change intricate programs or even use virtual stuff - I just don't have the time.
When I read that article reminded me what I am not liking about 10 is the way that one can alter snips / pics with paint - a feature that I use an awful lot was so easy in 7 and is now very convoluted. The default apps I get rid of almost all of them as I find them rather banal preferring CP, This PC, msconfig, and cmd on my start menu.
But am getting off topic eh?
Update
I got to thinking on the way home last night about the generic activation code that Navy mentioned and thought I could lose nothing by using it.
I went into Settings > Activation and entered that code and it asked me if I wanted to upgrade - remembering that this is just a clean install and not an upgrade from a 7 Pro install choice I thought what have I got to lose. It went on for seem time until a message came up that it had got to 100%. There was some gobbledegook message under that window in red that I could not understand and I just rebooted the machine it had changed the version from Home to Pro!!
I shut down the machine and waited until this morning to try the 7 Pro activation code again and I have just got the message that the version is activated and a genuine copy of Windows.
Have attached a pic of Showkey and would like opinions on what I have got?? Hope I have scrubbed enough out if not please do what you have to.

Am trying pic again -no will not do it have checked the settings but just to say the code sent back as the manufacturers one I was given was very different to it and was for a copy of 8.1 Pro.
Would still like opinions please on whether I should go ahead and reinstall my programs and mail etc .
Thanks to you Shawn and Navy such a simple fix and yes it says my copy is genuine so I shall run with it. When I get the attachment fixed I will still check back but have already started to install my AV and other stuff.
Next job is to clone the drive as I did this on a small 120GB SSD and it will get a fair caning from me in due course.
I wonder if there is any problem for going this route with installing Win 10/64-bit on a computer that had Win 7/32-bit (without ever installing Win 10/32-bit)?
Basically I am thinking about the process described here: How to Switch From 32-bit Windows 10 to 64-bit Windows 10 while skipping the middle step, - by using Shawn's solution.
