Do you get any error messages?

    Is your Windows currently activated?

Is the ISO you used the same as what you currently have installed?

You might also refresh (F5) your desktop to see if the GenuineTicket.xml file may show up afterwards.

When i right click and run as admin gatherosstate it does not create a GenuineTicket.xml file. Now what?
NB: It will only create one on a genuinely activated system. Run slmgr /dlv to check licensing.

Windows 7 forums have the experts there... otherwise post an MGA report in the activation section here and we'll have a look. I haven't dealt with Win 7 activation in yonks tho'... LOL

I already tried that ages ago but the mga tool doesn't work for me.Theres so many things that don't work on my windows 7 so thats why im trying to get a new OS.One thing goes wrong after the other and its really annoying. Im trying to do what NAVYLCDR said on page two( Windows media creation tool problem - Windows 10 Forums ) but again I've hit another wall thats stoping me from continuing. Im downloading a win 7 iso with the slowest internet ever :\ and ima try install that.

This method, assumes an activated underlying licence, as you have now come to experience.
In your case activating Win 7 or 10 of the same edition with the COA sticker key would be easier, IMHO.

Macrium Reflect free backup - and yes I agree after that a low-level format (i.e. not quick) then clean install. However,After reading about your woes, I suspect that HDD may be saying bye-bye slowly.

Sorry...hehe its because i always have a lot of questions but I've never really had someone to answer them and i never thought of using a forum.Silly me.
