    For anyone interested i think MS has made a recent change to allow legit downloads of several "products" via Digital River.

    Yep well if Brink and Navy don't mind my two cents worth I just did a clean install onto a new drive and just kept all other drives unplugged. It was too easy - just need to get the bit version right

    MS is not "allowing" this. It is a workaround/hack to the Tech Bench download page. With the right script any one can do it. That script was floating round the web for some time. The talented author scripted it and gave it a GUI.

    @Porthos

    Assuming you are right, then the tutorial by Shawn Brinks has a "Non-Legit" link to the Windows Direct Download links in this tutorial:
    Clean Install Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

    If you are right, i would think Shawn would want to correct the tutorial, i often post links to tutorials, i trust them.

    Here is a screen print snip from the tutorial:

    They are safe links at Heidoc since they are just direct download links from Microsoft, but the downloads are often just not available there.

    It's best to get Windows 10 ISO files using an option below from Microsoft though.

    Thanks Shawn, i'll continue to use your tutorial and the heidoc download links with that caveat about availability.

    I only tested one download, and had no problems.
