Hello oznear, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

If you had an internet connection, you will still have one.

You would need an internet connection to be able to activate Windows, and to be able to setup a Microsoft account (if wanted).

i'm sorry sir, i don't get it..the thing is the tool had finished downloading everything, everything is ready. and it prompts to install it. then i click install..on that part wherein windows 10 starts to install, that part do i still have to have an internet connection to continue or it will proceed to install w/o internet connection..?

or shall i say, does the whole process of upgrading requires an internet connection ?

It'll still install Windows 10 without an internet connection, but.....

You would need an internet connection to be able to activate Windows, and to be able to setup a Microsoft account (if wanted).

    Correct. :)

However, if you're doing the free upgrade to 10, I would strongly recommend to have an internet connection during Windows Setup to make sure it gets activated. If activation fails, you may have to start over completely to clean install and activate your Windows 7/8.1 and upgrade to 10 again.

No. You have 1 year (until July 20th 2016) to claim your free upgrade. Once you do, it's good forever just like a retail copy. :)
