    Greetings,

    I have found:
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Start
which lists the various FOLDERS available to pin to the Start Menu.

This appears to be the DEFAULTS for all users.

Is there a way to specify which folders appear for specific users?

    Thank you!

I want to set default buttons for new computers, but allow the user to change them if desired. I tried this with ..._ProviderSet=0 to allow the user to change the settings, but the default values did not apply. Experimentation revealed that the show/hide setting is only applied if ..._ProviderSet=1 (user cannot change it).

Is there a registry setting that will set a default "show" or "hide" setting for each button, but still allow the user to change it if desired?
