How to Resize your Start Menu in Windows 10

In Windows 10, you can resize the height and width of your Start menu.

Starting with Windows 10 build 21354, resizing the Start menu will no longer affect the size of the Search window.

This tutorial will show you how to resize the height and width of your Start menu to what you want in Windows 10.

    Here's How:

    1. Open your Start menu.

    2. Hover your cursor over the top border of the Start menu until it changes to the 'Resize' icon. Drag the border up or down to the size you want it.

    3. Hover your cursor over the right border of the Start menu until it changes to the 'Resize' icon. Drag the border left or right to the size you want it.

    OR

    4. Press and hold the Ctrl key and press the Up arrow, Down arrow, Left arrow, and Right arrow keys to adjust the height and width of your Start menu.

    That's it,
    Gav

Before posing this question on the forum I did try hovering the icon over the edge and tried dragging but the problem is it refuses to drag, plus the icon dithers in and out.

    THANK YOU for this!
I was going crazy trying to figure out why 1 out of 3 computers kept a wide Start Menu (even with Quick Access Jump Menus turned off).

Is there a way of setting the width of a start menu via a group policy? I've exported a start menu and then deployed it via a Group Policy but despite changing the width before exporting it to a .xml file on all the machines it's deployed to, it comes up wide?

Is there a registry setting for resizing the Start Menu? Either height or width?
