How to Use Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) in Windows
The Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) works by running tests to figure out what's wrong and offers the best solution for the identified problem. It can currently fix Office, Microsoft 365, or Outlook problems. If the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant can't fix a problem for you, it will suggest next steps and help you get in touch with Microsoft support.
Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant System Requirements
The following operating systems are supported:
- Windows 10
- Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
- Windows 7
Outlook in any of the following Office versions can be scanned:
- Microsoft Microsoft 365 (2019, 2016, or 2013, 32-bit or 64-bit)
- Microsoft Office 2019 (32-bit or 64-bit; Click-to-Run or MSI installations)
- Microsoft Office 2016 (32-bit or 64-bit; Click-to-Run or MSI installations)
- Microsoft Office 2013 (32-bit or 64-bit; Click-to-Run or MSI installations)
- Microsoft Office 2010 (32-bit or 64-bit)

This tutorial will show you how to use the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) to troubleshoot and diagnose Office, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Windows issues for your account in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

1 Download and run the SaraSetup.exe file from Microsoft below for the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant.
2 Click/tap on Install. (see screenshot below)
3 The Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant will now start downloading and installing for your account. (see screenshot below)
4 When finished installing, Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant will automatically open and run. Go to step 2 in Option Two below.
1 Open the Start menu , and open the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant app installed in Option One. (see screenshot below)
2 You will now see a Launching Application window for the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant. (see screenshot below)
3 The first time you open the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant, you will need to click/tap on I agree for the Microsoft Services Agreement. (see screenshot below)
4 In the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant, click/tap on the app you are having problems with to select it, and click/tap on Next. (see screenshot below)
5 Click/tap on the problem you are having with the app from the list, and click/tap on Next. (see screenshot below)
The list of problems will be different per app.
6 Follow the directions the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant provides.
