    Hello,

I wanted to post an update...

I got my VM image to sysprep & push through our deployment (FOG) system to a new PC...

Then on new install I removed a bunch of bloatware through Powershell scripting...

Then when running sysprep... I got an error.. form what I read it had to do with possible apps that were removed, or not removed..

Not sure why Micro$oft had to make windows 10 so much more difficult compared to XP or Windows 7...

I am doing a new VM install.. and I will try a new Powershell script (I read somewhere that you need to remove the apps 2 different ways (Remove-AppxPackage, as well as Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage)

    My question to you...

Do you know the correct way to remove these programs in audit mode to keep them removed during new install/join domain etc..

    Thanks
    Jason

When configuring the default user profile, can driver's not be loaded? My problem is every time i try a default profile build with the Nvidia Quadro drivers installed and configured for our custom screen configuration, upon reboot into OOBE mode it just keeps looping windows. I've tried this on another pc without a driver loaded and it works fine.

Kari, Love the Finn's especially Pekka (I'm From Nashville) Go Preds!

So, In W7, I could copy a profile and rename it Default (after changing Default's name) and all my users log in to the Default Profile I Wanted.
Now, W10 comes around and it so convoluted, I don't WANT to mess with it. Is there an easier way?

    Something else,
I asked a Windows programming person, at a conference, about the W7 copy profile and he told me, starting with W10 1607 I would be able to copy profiles again but, after trying it, I found that it is buggy/wonky and unreliable (Guessing it's the MS Apps). Heard anything on this?

My apologies, I had for some reason missed this post.

Using Sysprep with /generalize switch and CopyProfile set TRUE is the only recommended method to edit default user profile. There are several unofficial methods to do this, but in all honesty I am not able to assist in using them simply because I have never used not even studied any other method than the one told in this tutorial.

About Pekka, it's a shame they lost!

Yeah, Pekka should have gotten the Goalie of the year. And our 1st round draft was another Finn (forward).
Want to mention the "unofficial" methods? I have an idea they will crash the Store no matter what.

One method that should at least theoretically work is to boot PC with a Live Linux, WinPE or such boot media, then simply copy the preferred user profile to default profile, overwriting it.

About the NHL finals, I watched them live and I have to tell after games 3 & 4 in Nashville I was 100% sure they will win Stanley Cup. Was disappointed to see how they then couldn't continue the same effort in Pittsburgh.

I had problems a while ago with a corrupt user profile when creating a new account. Could you copy over the default profile from another known working PC having the same Windows version? Why do you have to boot from other media to copy the profile?

    corrupt user profile

A fix for a corrupt user profile on a W10 "should" be a Repair Start Up During boot or using a w10 boot disk.
