Thanks Shawn I'll do that, and thanks too Night Hawk for the heads up.
Trouble is mate a fracture is what we usually mean by a break Mine was a straight sheer at the top of my femur so now I have a steel shoulder and whacking great long steel pin down the centre of the leg bone fixed to the knee end and then attached to another fixture at the top to hold the leg in the correct position

I can't exactly envision that, but I'm sure it's not gonna be very comfy for quite awhile yet. Good luck.

I understand that "fracture" may refer to bone that has not totally separated, so the defect shows as a dark crack (sometimes difficult to see) on the x-ray film, or a broken bone that has totally separated, indicated by a discontinuity of the bone on x-ray. When I broke my humerus at the age of 13 in 1966, the oblique surfaces of the sheared bone went past each other and shortened by left arm by over 2 inches. Manual traction by the orthopaedic surgeon and his team with me under gas anaesthesia reduced the fracture to within 1 inch of the original length. I apparently injured a nurse during the procedure as I kicked out when the bone ends were relocated. It was unusual to perform open surgery on fractures in the UK at that time. So my arm healed with 2 sharp snags of bone above and below the fracture site. Over time (half a century) the bone has assumed a more or less normal shape, although a pathologist could probably determine the date and extent of the fracture.

Despite the slightly shorter limb, it has had little effect on my upper body ability - I was never sporty or musical before, or since the accident.

Thank heavens that Biology does not perform cumulative updates.

OUCH! is the only word best suited for that. I am familiar with the process while past injuries here had been full breaks and a crushed toe in one motorcycle accident. A brick off of a brick stove landed on a finger as a kid when going to climb over one and slipping. Steel cast shaped like a U with plenty of wrap on that. Besides the awkwardness the pain will vanish soon while trying to make the attempts at any normal movements?

That will be a therapy lesson of it's own type. Keep that leg straight and hopefully you will be able to reduce the time it is required. Fingers crossed for you! I would say Fafhrd has us both topped there however as far as extent of injuries go. Regardless it's never any garden party just the same.

Yep Night Hawk it ain't no fun party and I think besides the pain and loss of normal mobility the boredom is quite exquisite.

My Dad said "You never miss hot water until you haven't got it" (he was a plumbers central heating engineer)

A bit OT but surprises me how many members have been on motorcycles - had to give mine away after wrecking my right shoulder - gold prospecting

When I had mine back in 1977 besides crushing the bone in a big toes and shattering bone in the next two from the shifter being bent into them my leg was twisted which in turn weakened the knee cap. I could have lost the entire half of the leg if having it had been twisted further with more force! I not only lost the bike but a jeep with 3 speed standard shift at the time when I had to have that repossessed since my shifter leg was messed up! Had to have a friend drive the jeep back out of the mountainous area since the accident had been on an old logging road. A couple of years later I decided to pick up a road bike after giving up on a second trail bike! (Yet in later years preferred four on the floor trannys as well as a second trail bike and later a road bike 2yrs. later)

Hmm well mate I was also thinking of buying my favourite bike at the time of my shoulder wreck and so that put paid to both ideas because the chronic pain from the now partly frozen shoulder prevents me from holding the bars anymore. Now this well well and truly out.

Oh the bike by the way the most fabulous bike ever designed (I think) that I wanted was a 2004 model Kawasaki ZZ600 and it was at a good price too. The dealer told me that I would enjoy my 20 minute drivers licence with a grin on his face cos he knew I would give it a handful when I got on the open road and you know how it goes.

Edit Tried to post a pic but it would not add it

I was a Honda fan myself. But I think we might want to carry this over to the Chillout Room since we are still on a guide here.

I been trying to comb through post guys but not all the way yet not seen anything on the reverse method install 7-8 on top of existing Windows 10 install. I got my 7 key worked out want to install it, been years since use and was dead key but MS sorted it for me.

I may also install Zorin which is a OS I find intriguing very nice free one.

I just changed to 10 Pro 1607 I have to say despite the data mining of the OS which seems easy enough to turn most off without 3rd party tools is the best OS I have yet to run.

Seen huge increases in performance on
-CPU temps alone 21-25C idle from 8.1 pro 33C normally
-GPU although I have a evga 2gb 960 FTW which destroyed 980ti physics before hand it is operating much more efficient now
-My internet speed increased was always 98.+ MBs up/down been hitting 110-125mbps up/down since 10
    and more

Thanks to all for tips and always thank Shawn 7,8,10 forums are the best.

    quick drives edit details

    -main drive SSD 120gb kingston
    - 5+1+1 TB WD Blacks
    - odd older 7200s 2x500gb 2x250gb 1x160gb

I was wanting to keep 10 on main SSD and operate other OS's from any of those extra drives
