Windows 10: Windows.old Folder - Delete in Windows 10
hey guy....just use ccleaner and jus check delete old windows installation and hit run cleaner
and ccleaner will do the rest
Mine was almost that big. 26GB and the disk cleanup method took care of it.
We meet again. Unlocker deletes everything in Windows.old Folder except for the file IntcDAud.sys. One can rename and move the file through Unlocker but can't delete it (says file being used by some other Program) even on reboot. Maybe if UEFI Bios are temporarily changed into Legacy it might delete on reboot but I haven't tried it.

It's good to see you. If you haven't already, you might also take ownership of the Windows.old folder and all contents, and try again.

tks, Cliff M.
If you don't need anything from the Windows.old folder, then it's safe to delete using an option in the tutorial.
I just installed the latest build and as I have a rather small drive c: I wanted to delete the Windows.old files. I, had two of them. Disk Cleanup deleted Windows.old but left Windows.old(1). Not much left inside that Windows.old(1) folder but I...
Insider updates from 10130 to 10158 to 10159 to 10162 in fairly quick succession, and tried to delete Windows.old. After an age at 98%, then having to manually skip a load of stuff, it still seems as full as ever.
Is there an easy way to remove the...
I was purusing my C Drive and noticed Windows.old...just wanted to check if it was safe to delete (imagine upgrade from Slow Ring to Fast Ring 10130 created this)
I'm on the Fast Ring - I ain't got time for old stuff!
I totally feel like I want to delete it, and I'll probably delete it regardless of what you guys say, but I still want to ask. Is there a reason why I should not want to delete it ?

If you have the System Reserved partition.
