I ll uninstall the program later, and if the folder is leftover I ll delete it manually.
By the way, I checked Option 5 before deleting the folder. In my laptop, Option 5 did not give me the option to delete the old version. The option to delete the old folder as shown in the tutorial did not appear. Greetings.

This commands are working [at lest here] in command prompt as admin [also in my autoit script]

echo Y| cacls C:\Windows.old\*.* /T /C /grant username:F
rmdir /S /Q C:\Windows.old\
cacls command cannot be performed silent, no builded option for that from MS
so , the [echo Y| ] part in second command will serve an yes as answer at first question (are you sure ?)
or instead you can simply use
and give yourself the [y] or [Y] answercacls C:\Windows.old\*.* /T /C /grant username:F
if your [windows account username] contain blank(s) inside probably is better to use "user name":F
replace username with your [windows account username]
if your windows is already tied to MS account use instead mymail@mysite.com:F
replace mymail@mysite.com part with your personal MS account data.
OBS 1:
in OPTION TWO in OP , for me , anyway
is strange to use in one command [C:\] and in the other [%SystemDrive%]
for refer to the same path.
OBS 2:
the delete of [C:\$Windows.~BT] folder part is missed in OP ,
[is only mentioned in Information header and topic title of OP]
and normally this folder eat in vain another ~ 2GB
this folder is not locked by stupid permissions
it can be simply deleted for recover more space.

I have updated Option Two, and added referenced for the "$Windows.~BT" folder.
The "old" Option Two still works perfectly for me. It's just that it does not work when run from desktop. It works however without issues when I restart to Advanced Boot Options and select Command Prompt, when Windows has not "locked" the folder.
The new version of Option 2 should work from the desktop. Adding to take ownership first should help prevent permission issues when trying to delete the folder.
I had a file in the windows.old folder that was corrupt, so windows could not delete it using any option here. For me, the only thing that worked was to run Ubuntu(Linux OS/not Windows) from a DVD/USB, without installation, and using the file explorer/browser in Ubuntu I was able to delete the windows.old folder. I then restarted Win10 normally, via my Hard Drive(actually SSD) and verified that the windows.old folder was finally gone. I'm sure Brink could explain this option, better than I did. I hope this helps anybody who had trouble using all the other options.
