    Thanks for those .reg files.

In my new win 10 install, after resizing other things through the UI, the initial hex value for the first hex number in the IconFont field was e2, not f4. I deduce that this is the number that controls font size. In my case changing that number to e8 produced the desired smaller font size.

I don't know how uniform across installations is the default size parameter, but I'd recommend doing what I did -- navigate to that registry field in regedit, context-menu-select 'modify binary data', double click on that first parameter, and change it to a new hex value, where in microsoft logic a bigger number means a smaller font. This is because MS apparently lives in Bizarro World, where everything is backwards of what would be rational.
    Hello apb,

    I'm glad it could help.

The actual size can vary depending on current screen resolution and DPI scaling settings.

The useful system font changer utility is no longer free and requires activation to work. I suggest you amend the tutorial to make this clear.

    Hello Steve,

Thank you. It does appear to only have a 31 day free trial before activation is required.

Oh that is a pity , luckily I still have the old version backed up, used it today in fact
( monitor change caused Win10 to set everything back to default???)
the new version seems to have more features than the old though.

This option 1 totally messed up my display. I mean all the title bars and my icons on my high resolution 4K monitor became so small that they were unreadable. I tried to increase the size to the maximum still the mess remained the same.

After clicking apply the System Font Size Changer from WinTools mostly stopped working and I had to force stop it and then reopen it. No matter how many times I tried the title bar and the text remained the same. I had even saved the settings before trying it all. It even failed to restore my settings when I tried to restore it.

So this is a BIG NO for me. After wasting so much time to get back to normal now I am scared to try step two. Just don't want to mess it all up again. Finally I had to do a system restore to get rid of it all.
