That being said your MiC gain could use a boost 3db but not more than 5db if your able to set your gain
    in 1db increments.
Sorry about the audio in my Windows videos (https://www.youtube.com/KariTheFinn), I am doing them with ailing and failing hardware. My microphone only allows 0, 10 or 20% boost. I have tried all options; even with 100% recording level and 0 boost, you could not hear anything. Using 20% boost creates a really distorted audio. Only available setting that I can use is 100% recording level with 10% boost.

Now the question i may of missed it but have seen a clear answer.
Basically, these settings are for those users who want to save storage space on drive C: but have not relocated the Users folder. If you relocate using the Sysprep method as told in this tutorial, you should leave these storage locations to their defaults. Exception: if you want to set a specific storage location to OneDrive, do it here.

Perfect audio or not you put out high quality information sir thank you! so I ran the sysprep in hyper v with out any problems. I'm currently in a live session of sysprep ready to finalize but I didn't check those settings in my hyper-v simulation.

So want to make sure if I should change these to my new user partition before I hit enter to execution the real deal! with the biggest concern being wether new app should save to C: or if they can go to the new user partition as well. id rather not deal with a broken windows store app 40 minutes after pushing ENTER. apologies if the question wasn't clear in my previous post its been an all nighter for me !

    Clean Re-Install Users Folder Move

    Kari said:
I have to be honest with you, I have never experienced something like this, nor heard about it happening. I am completely unable to explain why this is happening to you.

I have a suggestion, though. Theoretically this should work, if it really works is impossible to say before you test it:

    <<Content Removed>>

This should work. If you decide to try it, please come back and post the results.

Thank you for the advice and instructions. At this point, my only option is to do a clean install as you mentioned anyway. Furthermore, it is probably best that I reformat both the SSD and the HDD and wipe them completely, especially since the HDD already has the moved Users folder. There is no personal data on any drives anyway, as this is already a fairly new (two week) install anyway. The difference is that this time the move is going to be done before any accounts are created (and before any other software is installed), as specified in method 1 of your tutorial.

I do believe this sysprep procedure should work on a clean install, especially since it is dictated by Microsoft themselves:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949977

Note: As Microsoft says, this prevents any upgrades or service packs from working, however it is not a problem from me as I prefer to disable the Windows Update service anyway. When a large update has been released, I will just do a clean install.

Also to mention, the main purpose of all of this for me is to keep my SSD from being burned (written to) constantly over time from continuous writes to the Users/AppData folder, mostly by Windows processes and web browsers. Anyone can see that this is the case by opening resource monitor or watching their SSD/HDD activity LED. Within a year my computer showed 3.0 TB (3,000 GB) of writes just from these background writes to the AppData folder and to a much lesser degree, other system folders. All this after moving the pagefile, moving the search index libraries, disabling hibernation/fast boot, disabling System Restore, moving all personal files to another drive, stopping windows updates, maintaining very little software installed, etc. It was to the point that Intel's SSD toolbox showed degradation of the drive's life.

I will report back on the success of the clean reinstall and users folder move during the install process.

    Note   Note
    PLEASE NOTICE!

The above quoted extract from an MS support article is outdated, no longer valid information!

The Sysprep method described in this tutorial does in no way prevent updates nor upgrades!

That article is, although lately gone through a visual facelift, from pre-Vista era, written when Vista was near to be released. Although the article lists in "Applies to" section at the end all Windows versions from Vista to 8 and Server 2012, you can easily see how it was written for Vista (search word Vista on that page!). Since those days 10 years ago, a lot in Windows in general and Sysprep process in particular have changed.

To avoid any wrong information to be spread, please remember that starting from Windows 7, the sysprep process does not affect updates in any way. Starting from Windows 10 also the upgrade process is not affected; in fact you can even upgrade Windows 7 with relocated Users folder to Windows 10, whereas upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 8 you had to first sysprep the Users folder back to C:, then upgrade.

Just for information, my current installation on this computer was Build 14267. That's when I relocated the Users to drive E: on this computer. Since that I have upgraded this PC without any issues to builds 14271, 14279, 14291, 14295 and now last week to 14316. In all that time there has not been a single failed update (except nVidia driver update which was resolved with a manual install).

Please do not post statements like in above quote as facts!

Hello, new to this site and im highly interested in your guide. However with windows 10 anniversary around the corner im wondering if i should put the method off to avoid having to go through the "Upgrade" or if any advances have been made that would allow this update to proceed wtihtout having to relocate the user folder back n fourth again (Getting an SSD shortly and want user/temp/ect on HDD instead of SSD)

Please read the post just before yours. Your question is exactly the reason why I would not like to see outdated, invalid things to be posted as facts.

Just scroll up a bit, the post I want you to read is the last one before the quoted post of yours, post #503.

I am encountering another issue. The current MediaCreationTool.exe for windows 10 iso only gives me an ESD (Followed directions you gave in the first post to obtain the install.wim) Is there a working conversion method/program or should i just scour the net for the .wim?
