Do not try with an existing installation, however fresh and vanilla it is. Do a clean install, without network connection, boot to Audit Mode as told in Method One. Sysprep, let Windows reboot to OOBE.

Only connect network when done and on desktop.
Network never a problem as windows 10 does not have drivers for my network card. But ill do as you suggest, only difference is im making a new bootable usb using the media creation tool vs using an iso just to make sure

Media Creation tool uses install.esd instead of install.wim file. Don't use it! Download an ISO instead: Windows 10 ISO Download (Option One if you are working with standard Windows 10 version 1607, Option Three if you are using Windows Insider builds).

Restore a backup and try again, this time with one small change: before signing out from your own user account and signing in to built-in admin account, create one new local user account (tutorial, see Option Three to make a local account), name it as you wish like Dummy or Temp or whatever. Change this account's type from default standard user to Administrator (tutorial).

Now when you sign in to built-in admin to disable existing user accounts, disable all other accounts but do not disable this temporary account! When Sysprep is done and if it shows "System" again, you can sign in to this temporary account and using it activate built-in admin and other user accounts, then remove the temporary user account.
Thanks Kari, that worked. Much appreciated.

It seems to be my poor English that is causing a misunderstanding. That sentence should be like this (I will edit the tutorial now!):
    Well,thank you.

    PS:

Can I take bootable rescue media created by Macrium as a PE disk?

Thanks so much for the detailed walkthough! I have already successfully moved my Users folder to a secondary drive but I am encountering an issue moving it back for a new windows version upgrade. The bulk of my Users folder / files are on my secondary Z drive, however, there is a residual Users folder and subfolder (mostly empty except appdata) remaining on my C drive. I read in the tutorial that one must make sure that:

"[...] the drive into which you are relocating the Users folder is empty or at least does not contain any Windows system folders, especially Users folder or parts of it from any current or previous Windows installation."

First of all, I am assuming that this also applies for restoring the Users folder back to C... Presuming that that is the case, I am unable to delete the Users folder (again, mostly empty except appdata) on C. Even when I grant Administrator permission to delete the folder, I am told that "Folder Access is Denied" and that I need permission from SYSTEM. Am I doing somthing wrong, or does anyone have further troubleshooting instructions?

You don't have to move Users folder back to C: before an upgrade. Since Windows 10 version 1511 (build 10586) it has been possible to upgrade to any later version or build keeping Users folder where it is. This applies to upgrades from Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and earlier builds of Windows 10.

Only exception: if upgrading from Windows 7 with not only Users folder but also ProgramData relocated, ProgramData must be moved back to C: drive before an upgrade. Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 do not support relocating ProgramData.

I was writing the same thing out lol. Replying via phone is a bit slower, though.

My main machine and one of my VMs makes use of this tutorial to move the \Users tree, and hasn't had an issue in several months/

so I can even use Windows Upgrade now, really no reason why I should not move Users to another dirve!

thanks for detailed instructions and for your kindness, just wanted to say that!

EDIT: I have a question, if you please: I did everything and it worked like a charm, now I see in my C: drive a folder called Logs (a different one from PerfLogs); I assume it stores the logs from the sysprep process, didn't it? Can I delete this folder?

    thanks..
