    Hello,

Have a P50 with NVMe SSD (only drive)
Wanted to do a fresh install of Win-10.

Started Win-10 clean install, went through Kari's tutorial for moving location to D:.

Now, going through with installation, System loops at Settings - "Hi There", where it asks for home country/region etc.
No matter whether I select "Customize" (in which case I go through all settings) or "Use Express Settings". it always brings me back to "Hi There" page.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Kari,

Am re-installing and going over the process again. Just to make sure.

And this time it works. Don't know what happened the last time. I used the same USB flash drive that had the relocate.xml etc.

    Anyhow, thanks for this tutorial.

Now on to installing drivers and software..

    Thanks Kari.

It did just baffle me initially, more so since I've been following this process of yours from Windows-7 onwards and have used the process time and time again even with earlier builds of Win-10.

    Thank you again.

The positive in using the Sysprep method in a clean install (Method One in this tutorial) is that there's no harm done if it does not work first time. Sometimes it is because something as simple as a minor typo in answer file, sometimes no clear reason can be found.

Anyway, when the answer file is correct and procedure done exactly as told, it will eventually always work.

True. What I did experience was that the process went on fine and I could see the Users folder on my D:. It was while continuing with windows installation that I went in that loop. But since this was the initial install, I could repeat without any problem.

No, although it is recommended. In any case it cannot contain any Windows system files or folders from any other Windows installation.

I am afraid but I have not a faintest clue what you mean with this?

    Kari
    Forgive me my poor English.

"Be sure that the drive into which you are relocating the Users folder is empty and does not contain any Windows system folders, especially Users folder or parts of it from a previous Windows installation."

In this sentence,I mean if the drive which will be relocated is empty, then the emphasis of "especially Users folder or parts of it from a previous Windows installation." seems to be supernumerary.

Thank you,I understand this concept now.And I successfully achieve the target.

    Happy Spring Festival!

It seems to be my poor English that is causing a misunderstanding. That sentence should be like this (I will edit the tutorial now!):

Be sure that the drive into which you are relocating the Users folder is empty or at least does not contain any Windows system folders, especially Users folder or parts of it from any current or previous Windows installation."
