It's not "my way". Sysprep is a native tool in Windows, this method is made possible by Microsoft including the option to use <ProfilesDirectory> tags in answer file.

    Made and designed by Microsoft.

Yes, I know that's why I put it in quotes. Just trying to be funny - But I can see why you clarified it. You don't want people reading this and thinking this is just something you dreamed up.

Why on earth would you need to / want to move Users back and forth? I am running possible Anniversary Build already (build 14393 is rumored to be the one), or at least one of the last builds before that. I don't have nor have I had any issues upgrading.

I thought I read in the posts here there are times when you need to move the users back to the C: drive (as discussed in post #39)

The post you refer to is from April 2015. In November 2015, six months later, we got Windows TH2 Version 1511 Build 10586.

This quote from tutorial, its last part Upgrade:

    Note   Note
Please notice that with the Build 10586 (TH2 version 1511) and later there has been no issues in upgrading even with relocated Users folder.

If upgrading from Windows 7 with not only the Users folder but also the ProgramData folder relocated, you have to move the folders back to C: drive before upgrading. as told below. This is not necessary if the ProgramData folder is not relocated.

It is recommended to read the whole tutorial before starting this process. This of course applies to any procedure you are not familiar with, read the instructions before proceeding

You simply can't rename the user profile folder. That's why I recommend always create your user account as local account, using any name you want to, then when first time on desktop switch to MS account.

If creating a user a MS account, user profile will be named as the name part in MS account email only if the name part is 5 characters or less. If longer than 5 characters, the user profile will get 5 character acronym.

MS account user bob@anyemailprovider.com would get user profile named as bob, but user sebastian.hoffenburgerstein@anyemailprovider.com would get profile named as sebho

My current setup is that I've done a clean install of Win10, creating a (administrator) user account linked to my hotmail address which has a folder name I don't like (doher). I've also created a local Admin account called DDAdmin (just in case)

I want to make sure I understand. Since I'm going to use "Method Two" in this post. And I only have two users created. Please tell me if I have these steps right: (a couple of questions in this list too).

    1) move the users as in step 2 - but don't worry about deactivating first
    2) After the move, create a local user account with my desired name of "Dave"
    3) Then I can make the "Dave" account a MS Account (**** now do I do that??? *****)
    4) Then move the files from the old (doher) account to the new (Dave) account
    5) Delete the old (doher) account
    6) Do I need to do anything with Users\Public (it looks like it has no user associated with it so it just work as normal??)

    Thanks for your help

You plan is solid, assuming I get this point correctly:

    1) move the users as in step 2 - but don't worry about deactivating first
Doing Method Two will most probably make Start and Search / Cortana unusable for each existing user account. If your intention is to abandon / remove all existing user accounts after sysprep, you don't have to disable them and re-enable after sysprep. The recommendation to disable them applies to those users who want to keep existing user accounts.

    About your point 6: No.

Oh, what about #3 - How do I make the local account a Microsoft Account?

    3) Then I can make the "Dave" account a MS Account (**** now do I do that??? *****)

    Thanks...
