    Hello MSMPlayz,

If you delete all partitions on the disk at step 11 or 12, then yes.

Ok thats what I might do, though I did go looking for the Keys and cant seem to find the dvd case with the key, I have the PC name written on the case. I have the two other, but not this one. Although there is another dvd case with a win 7 key that has no writings on it, it might be that one lol

I'll have to check tomorrow, worst case I will use the key from one of the other two, since I am parting them out.

    thanks
Please let us know how it went.

You could try entering the Windows 7 Pro key, but I'm not sure it'll activate or not since Windows 10 was never activated on the PC yet to have a digital entitlement.

Worse case, you may need to install and activate Windows 7, and upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
    It worked!!

I went in to change the product key, with the key I found and was accepted, I am now activated!!

Was wondering if one can clean install UEFI Win-10 Pro without making any changes to existing partitions. That way I'd still have ability to revert unit back to Factory Spec if needed.

    Thanks

    Hello nkaufman,

It would depend on if you currently have a UEFI Windows installed or not. If not, then most likely, you'll need to do a full wipe and clean install.

You should be able to create a set of factory recovery discs or USB depending on what brand and model your computer is. You could then use that to do a factory restore with in the future if you ever wanted to.

    Thank you for your response.

I just got a Lenovo Ideapad 300S with UEFI Win-10 Home. Upgraded to Win-10 Pro using generic key, updated to latest Win-10 build and used Win-7 Pro retail license to activate and got digital entitlement.

Lenovo, for some reason, did not provide any such feature to create recovery disks which seems very surprising.

I have created a Macrium Reflect backup but the user of the machine (not me) wanted the ability to revert to Factory Setup easily.

    Thanks again for your assistance.

    Would that be a 300S- 11IBR, 300S-14ISK, or U300S model?

I see Lenovo has a OneKey Recovery download for some models, but it depends on the specific model.

A Macrium Reflect image backup is a good choice to have.

    I have 300S-14ISK.

That OneKey Recovery is a giant pain..
One cannot make a backup using that software to an external HDD bigger than 2TB.
Next, it suggests that a backup will be made only of c:\, hence wasn't as comfortable using it as a backup.

    Thanks,

P.S. Thank you for the excellent tutorials that you created on this forum. They have been extremely helpful.

Agreed. I think Macrium Reflect would be a better option.

Since it did come with Windows 10 preinstalled, he'll always be able to download a Windows 10 ISO to do a clean install on it.
