Clean Install Windows 10  

I've probed this disk a bit more after a night's sleep.

The image below suggests that the drive has no problems.



I learned that Windows calls the boot drive e:

The command 'net user' could not find the name I used when I set up the computer. It also reported:

Administrator __ Default Account __ Guest
WDAGUtility Account

Can I either reestablish my chosen name or simply disable the use of a password with a command prompt entry and retry booting without the thumb drive? If so, what command(s) do I use?

You should be able to remove the USB once you reach step 17 to start setting up Windows. You don't have to though.

You can also set your BIOS to boot from your Windows drive, and use the Boot Menu, rather than setting the BIOS to boot from the USB stick.

For ASUS motherboards, you can bring up the Boot Menu by pressing F8 at boot.
