Success! Well, it's up and running and activated!

Notice a few things... A) it opened with my desktop background (a photo of my daughters), B) I didn't do the new partition thing, so it only created sys reserved and then C with everything else (will that be okay?) and C) it created a different product key (hopefully, that's right). OH, and it didn't let me name the PC. I'm sure I'll figure that out, but is that weird? I'm guessing it doesn't mean anything, hopefully.

    At any rate, thank you!

    Already got it, but thanks!

I'm noticing a glitch, I think... or maybe it's because OneDrive is updating? The task bar is marked to auto-hide, but it's not doing it... things are running a bit slow, but again I think that may be onedrive updating...?

Nevermind... I right clicked on onedrive (notification area), and the task bar hid.

The OneDrive is the new animal for Windows for sure there! It immediately synced a folder full of jpeg image files and put those in the folder online where I can simply add to them by dragging a file to the icon you see in the folder itself. CLOUD is in the MS thinking there for sure!

So far since the "SECOND" note upgrade over the first which was buggy! and why we all love "Clean Install" no less 10 has been running relatively smooth. I now have to plan a second system image for the 7 drive however since files were added since the one just before 10 was out I made in preparation for the dual boot since the 2013 clean install is now getting buggy at times with the WE not responding and I did this before back in June 2013 following the six month later restoration of the first image made of the 2010 clean install. Not bad for 2 1/2yrs. following a full system image backup being restored before planning the next clean install!

    Hey Shawn,

I've just been browsing the Dell website forum and seen a video about doing a clean install by creating a Recovery Drive from inside W10 (after upgrading) and using that for the install. Is this an alternative option and, if so, is there a difference between the 2 methods?

    Hello Maggy,

Using a recovery drive is a form of doing a OEM factory recovery, but it currently fails to create a recovery drive with the Back up system files to the recovery drive box checked on a non OEM PC. This is why I didn't include it in the tutorial yet until it's working properly.

It's certainly good to know about a recovery method similar to what we would do for previous versions without being forced to use the PC Refresh option. That simply nukes everything in flavor of a fresh start all over copy of Windows. Little urks and bugs can be solved fast.
