Hello @SKCoastie, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You can turn off the setting below in Malwarebytes to allow Windows Defender to be enabled again and still have Malwarebytes also running.

That seemed to do it. Grazie, Brink. Am fairly certain "On" was the default setting. This new version 4 has a bunch of previous settings removed, as well as a complete, drastic overhaul to their UI. It'll take a while for me to get used to it.

The coincidence of installing Malwarebytes 4 and its effect on the Windows Security alert of another AV provider still has me wondering.

    Thanks again!

@Brink, I applied the add scan reg file, logged out then logged in, but there is no Scan with Windows Defender in the File Explorer context menu.
Checked and all the registry entries are there. Defender is running.

Any suggestions on how to debug?

    Hello Rich @Ztruker,

Odd. The context menu should be there by default when you right click on files and folders.

The .reg file in the tutorial includes those lines, so it should still work.

Before going that far, check to make sure you have this below turned off in MBAM. It it's on, it will remove the "Scan with Microsoft Defender" context menu.

I have it turned on as that's thje way I prefer MBAM and Defender to run.

I'll turn it off and see what happens.

    Thanks Shawn

Yup, that is the fix but I prefer it to run the other way so I'll turn it off if I need to scan individual files or folders.
