    How to Add and Remove Information Cards for News and Interests in Windows 10


    News and interests on the taskbar provides easy access to information that’s important to you, without the distraction of switching between apps, websites, and other devices. View your location’s current weather conditions directly on your taskbar and hover over the icon to see concise, scannable information from sports and stocks to local news and breaking headlines.

    News and interests shows you content on a variety of topics. Each topic – top stories, weather, sports, stocks, and traffic – are contained within an information card and will update over time.

    Information cards for weather, money, sports, and traffic can be toggled on (add) or off (remove).

    This tutorial will show you how to add and remove information cards for the news and interests feed for your account in Windows 10.

    OPTION ONE

    Remove Information Card for News and Interests from Card


    1 Click/tap on the News and Interests icon on the taskbar. (see screenshot below)

    2 Click/tap on the More options (3 dots) button at the top right corner of the information card (ex: "Weather") you want to remove.

    3 Click/tap on Hide <name> card.

    OPTION TWO

    Add and Remove Information Cards for News and Interests in Experience Settings


    1 Click/tap on the News and Interests icon on the taskbar. (see screenshot below step 2)

    2 Click/tap on the Settings (3 dots) button at the top right corner of News and Interests, and click/tap on Language and content. (see screenshot below)

    If the Language and content setting is missing, then you can open the link directly in Microsoft Edge instead.

    3 On the Experience Settings > Language & content settings page in Microsoft Edge, turn on (add) or off (remove) the Information cards you want. (see screenshot below)

    This link must be opened in Microsoft Edge. It will not work in any other web browser.

    4 Close Microsoft Edge.

    5 Click/tap on the News and Interests icon on the taskbar, and click/tap on the Refresh feed button to see the changes. (see screenshot below)

    Hi, I accidentally disabled the Weather card in N&Interests, leaving me with a taskbar icon

    I have Edgedeflector installed, and as per your tutorial, the ability to select cards is not shown in Firefox.

    I therefore copied the link you cite and opened it in Edge:

    This appeared to show the Weather card enabled (although it wasn't). I disabled it, enabled it again.. still no Weather.

    I found it then took some minutes for the taskbar icon to update.

    It might be worth pointing that out. Thanks!

    Just to verify, did you refresh News and interests like in step 5 of option 2 after adding the weather card?

    No.. does that refresh the icon too?
    It was messy enough having to copy the link, open Edge, paste the link, find Edge said weather was enabled (when it wasn't) and then try toggling off and on. (And frustrating 'cos it insists on using Edge).

    By that time I felt I'd done enough .. I was content to wait.

    I'm not really interested in trying again, having been affected by the taskbar bug (now solved with the newest preview build, having come across two apparent bugs with Windows search (post read over 200 times, no response from anyone), and finally found that actually indexing most of C: makes Windows search work a whole lot more effectively!

    Refresh is suppose to force News and Interest to update to hopefully show your changes.
