    Greetings!

The problem was solved in an incredibly simple way, with a footnote information.

On a Microsoft page it says that News and Interests may not appear due to lack of space in the taskbar, so I thought my taskbar was on the left of the monitor and after opening the taskbar settings I changed it to lower and wow! It's not that News and Interests appeared in both the taskbar and the context menu.

Gosh Microsoft, you provide so much information to us users by not informing that this or that feature needs this or that condition to work correctly or even to activate, brilliant, a feature that only works with the taskbar horizontally and at the bottom of the monitor...

If you forgot that many, I even use the taskbar vertically, either the left or the right.

Let the next "exclusive" feature come. 😒

PS: The panel just keeps running and doesn't load anything...

    Hi, Ro,

Not sure what you mean by "The problem was solved"? If you mean that you could not get access to News/Interests with the taskbar on the left, then yes. While Microsoft does mention in their announcements about this new feature that it only works when the taskbar is on the bottom, I would agree those statements of that limitation are obscure.

But I am still unaware of a way to avoid loss of the system icons when the taskbar is on the bottom, the News/Interests is turned off, and the display scale is greater than 100%.

I didn't come across this problem that you describe.
My problem that I solved was, first the news and interests weren't being displayed in the GPO and the News and Interesting weren't displayed in the taskbar, first due to configuration problems then because the bar was vertical.
But I only used it for testing, I've already gone back to using the bar on the left.
This widget for me doesn't do much for the way I use the taskbar.

There have been lots of reports of this.

Many, but not all, users found that the problem vanished when they re-enabled News & interests, turned it on using the Taskbar context menu then turned it off again.

    ninox,
As I noted above in post #58

    You will see this if:

    - KB5003214 or KB5003637 is installed
    - News and Interests on the taskbar is turned off, and
    - Your DPI scaling (Settings|System|Display|Scale and layout is other (larger?) than 100%

Change any one of those, and the problem goes away.

I like it as I don't need the weather app. I just click on it in the taskbar and I see the same thing

I found a post on Answers.Microsoft.com from TRSmith3 in the middle of the page which matches my symptoms:
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...5-bcc9d2cad1ef
    - Note that the News/Interests feature in (optional) KB5003214 is now in the mandatory security update KB5003637 so not as easy to uninstall.
    - As I mentioned I get this bug if it is turned off either by its option or by Group Policy.
    - And my DPI setting is larger than 100% at 140%.
So I guess this behaviour is expected and unavoidable in my case? Hoping for a fix.
Same problem here, no solution apparently

    KB5003690 fixes N/I taskbar issue

Just installed this newly released optional cumulative update:

2021-06 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems (KB5003690)

I have not used it a lot yet, but it DOES seem to fix this issue of the taskbar!!!

    HOORAY!!!!!

WARNING: This is a HUGE update. It took over a half hour for the download and install on my computer, but the code to fix the taskbar seems included and fixing this will be worth it.
