Hello, I've a small problem with this feature on my Honor Magicbook Pro: when I turn on the news and interest feature, it does not show anymore the arrow with the hidden icons... Anyone could help me to make it work right?? Thanks!
Thank you so much, but I think that's a problem of the magicbook... I've spoken to other possessors, and it should be related to the presence of the PC manager icon next to the hour... I hope they can solve it asap, it's an interesting feature that i'd like to use...

I have Windows 10 Home Edition and only today I've updated it into version 20H2 and it came with this surprise in the task bar. I've tried the group policy but didn't work. But then, I noticed I could turn it off with the task bar context menu. To the ones still struggling with this, just use right mouse button on task bar, there's a "Microsoft News" section there, expand it to the right and you wil see several options, one just for hiding icon+text, other to disable it entirely etc.

Greetings, I have a problem.
After I made the UpDate for 21H1 the Local Group Policy Editor no longer displays the option News and interests in Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > News and interests in the left pane, News and interests disappeared and is not displayed in the bar Windows tasks.
Can anyone help?
This option does not appear, the group policy editor disappeared with News and Interests, in the panel below Netmeeting there is no longer the option News and interests.
Thanks I used the Group Policy editor to disable this.
Kept me from having to search around looking for the key to removing what I never wanted in the first place.
I HATE IT when Microsoft dumps new stuff on my desktop, taskbar or notification area without permission of warning. It is distracting, violates MY space and wastes my time to undo it.
No wonder people don't like to keep up with Windows updates.
