So, supposedly, I have run into this problem with Windows 10:
Fix Windows Not Remember & Save Folder Types or Folder Views Setting (Increase BagMRU Size Cache Memory Size) - Tech Journey

There is an app that I've used in the past to clean unnecessary "leftover" folder settings still saved in the Registry (called: ShellBag AnalyZer + Cleaner). Yet using that app, multiple times in the recent past, caused all my folder settings to reset. Hence I have not been using that specific app anymore.

Yet I came across the information posted on the link to that site (that I posted a link to), and apparently, for the past week or so, the settings of certain folders which kept resetting, no longer keep resetting anymore. Before I applied the information from that site to the Registry, I always have to use Brink's Folder Backup method to restore my last saved folder settings to fix the folder settings for the few folders' settings that kept resetting. I'm hoping that this "BagMRU Size Cache" is what my computer has been having an issue with though.

...so I just wanted to mention that info that I learned today. I'm assuming that it applies to this thread.
    Thank you. In addition:

Cool! Thanks for that link. I'm gonna save that in my favorites, just in case I need that =)

...And yes, apparently I did reach the default maximum of 5000

    Hello mate,

Just to recap, which specific folders or locations (ex: Libraries, open/save dialogs, etc...) are not being backed up and restored for you?

    Everything unfortunately
So been speaking to @LesFerch on the thread I made, thought we had made some progress. Downloaded your latest bat file ran a backup and then proceeded to update windows to 1909 finally. An example was I had a folder on my other SSD that on 1809 was large icons (as windows assigns folder type with what media was there first) but when I upgraded to 1909 it was in detailed view. Sure makes sense, ran the restore from the bat and nothing changed. All still the same including other folders on my main drive and other hard drives . Can show screenshots showing what I mean if necessary

It is a mystery that nothing was changed. Part of the restore process is to completely delete the current folder view settings before restoring the backup.

I know a bunch of things in the bat have an error but the window sort of goes by a bit fast and it still does create a folder with the registry keys.

Getting some errors is normal if a key is not there to backup or delete. It'll just skip it since it's already done, and move on to the next command.

Go ahead and post some screenshots to see if anything may stand out.

That looks normal for the commands.

Go ahead and post some screenshots showing the folder views not restored to see if anything may stand out.
