I've been trying out the vertical tabs, but it does take some time getting used to
You know, muscle memory and all. My mouse just wants to go to the top, on it's own
I see the advantages, beig a text person and now an icon or favicon person, vertical tabs offers much more room for the tabs name/description, plus the tab/site page you are on, has the full description at the top.
Also most sites do not need all the 4k screen reale state
It's just that my darn hand is not going to where I want it.
Hi all,
OK, a quite old topic in the rise of Windows 11 but still really useful. Thank you.
As a prime adopter of the new Edge (new age, ah ha) version, I had always been overlooking this feature. Just because of being used to navigate with the top tabs row. Looking for a tabs manager extension, I just arrived here with this topic. I thought "OK, as Shawn does promote it, it should be as useless as I believe". I would give it a try then keep it or leave it. And I have adopted it now!
IMHO its only missing feature is to search trough the tabs as the Chrome flag tab-switch-suggestions does a really poor job by suggesting only one tab out of all the matching tabs to switch to. Any ideas about this flag or any other tip to search through open tabs?
PS: it looks a little bit like this feature were based on the wonderful but teminated All Tabs Helper addon for Firefox. Far more powerful but I didn't try if this WebExtension for Firefox would be compatible with Edge...
Just to update my previous last that had a typo: « I thought "OK, as Shawn does promote it, it should be as useless as I believe" » should read « I thought "OK, as Shawn does promote it, it shouldn't be as useless as I believe" ». I did not find a way to edit a post.
I do apologize to @Shawn if I hurt him. I am very respectful for his work, his help and his IT skills.
