Change or Restore Default Location of Camera Roll Folder in Windows 10

I looked at process explorer and ApplePhotoStreams.exe and iCloudPhotos.exe are listed along side the Camera Roll - Copy(2) in the C: drive folder, if this is any help!

Please can someone help me to get my phone photos back to saving in the correct folder and get rid of the Camera Roll Copy folders?

Hello Maxine, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Just to verify, did you try option 2 or 3 to restore the default location of your Camera Roll folder?

If successful, you should be able to delete the incorrect copy to no longer have it.

Afterwards, you can move the Camera Roll folder to where you want it if needed.

Yes, I did use your .bat file and did delete the two copies but they reappeared and the photos are still saving on the C: folder.

Check the settings of the app you are saving photos from to see if it may have its own save location specified.

They just appear and are filling up my C: drive again. I don't mind them appearing if they save to my E: drive!

It's most likely the Photos app then, but it uses the Camera Roll folder.

Did you also restore the default location of your Pictures folder?

Go ahead and export the two registry keys below as REG files, and upload them here. I'll be happy to take a look to see if they show the correct default location of the Camera Roll folder.

The REG files show your Pictures folder to be located at "E:\Maxine\Pictures".

When you restore the default Camera Roll folder location, it will use the "C:\Users\Maxine\Pictures\Camera Roll" location.

If you want everything on "E", you will now need to move the Camera Roll folder into the "E:\Maxine\Pictures" folder.

If you want everything back to the default "C" drive, you will need to restore your Pictures folder back to "C:\Users\Maxine\Pictures".

Yes, I want it on E: as I didn’t have enough space on C:.

I restored it to C: to try and get it reset ( as was suggested in the thread above ) and then moved it (Pictures and the associated Camera Roll folder) back to E:.
But then the copy folders appeared again on C: and the photos still go to C: not E:.

Just to verify, use option 1 to make sure the current path of your Camera Roll folder is "E:\Maxine\Pictures\Camera Roll". If not, move it to "E:\Maxine\Pictures" so it will be.
