Hi Brink, Many thanks for your quick reply and welcome message.

That's good news - everything will be the same except for the language change from US to UK.

I'll take an Image of the disc as it currently is (just in case) and then do a clean install.

Real busy over the next few days, so will prob be Fri or Sat before I can get around to it.

I'll let you know how things go.

All the work and time you put into helping others is much appreciated.

    Many Thanks !

    Hey Gator, :)

That's usually a PC specific error.

    W10 Not Recognizing Itself

I have an C:\inetpub\history issue; the configHistory is missing. I tried to do an in-place W10 upgrade in order to repair that issue using an .ISO but I get 'This PC can not run W10'...that seems odd when it already has W10 installed. I am the admin and run the .iso as admin. What would cause an OS not to recognize itself?

I'm not sure about that message, but make sure you are using the same version and build of Windows 10 you have installed.

    32bit & 64bit

    M$ site has the following:
    Windows 10 ISO Downloads

Make sure to download both 32-bit and 64-bit images and the languages you'll need for your retail location.

This threw me off never had to download two versions before it was either or. So how does one mount two versions to run a repair install? I have a 64bit and have always used 64bit 'make sure to download both' is a 'bit' confusing, anyway I initially used the Windows 10 Single Language (x64) going to try the vanilla Windows 10 and will post back on the results.

BTW wouldn't know of a 'inetpub history default notepad' I could use to copy>paste over the corrupted one I have would ya? That would eliminate the repair hassle.

    Hello tazmo, :)

You would only want to use the same version, edition, and language as what you currently have installed.

I am unable to use any version of W10 .iso.
I chose the W10 Pro x64 which is what I upgraded to from W7 Pro back in August.
    Any ideas?
