Yes, as part of the normal process it will download and apply all pertinent OS updates automatically. There is no need to wait and do things after the fact manually. It even says "(Recommended)". Mine has always been defaulted to the Recommended. I have always done it this way. I see no reason to do it otherwise. The only possible exception would be a rare case when there is a known bad update in the wild that you would want to avoid. Very very rare. Let the system work the way it was designed.

Just prefer to avoid Windows deciding on drivers' updates, since there is at least one (for a wifi adapter) I know of, that is problematic.
Not sure if this can be avoided by the "Not Right Now" option, but at least trying.
Have you looked at WUMT? Windows Update Mini-Tool? You can snag them prior to WU and muzzle them.
