I am a Windows Insider on the Dev Channel and want to come out of it and install a stable version of Windows 10 whilst keeping all my files, apps, settings etc.

    Will this work?

Unfortunately, no. That would technically be a downgrade, version wise, which is not allowed with keeping files, data and installed apps. You will need to do a clean install to 19042.

Backup your current data first, and you can copy it over to the new OS, but your apps will need too be re-installed.

What if I upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 10 Home?

If you are on Insider anything, what I stated is true.

Th only possibility is to change your channel to Slow (Beta) or Release Preview (Dev). Currently that is 19042.685. I do not know if that is possible.

The answer is very likely no, unfortunately.

Didn't we just go thru that? If you do a clean install, you will not be keeping anything, hence the term "clean". If I do not understand, please explain further.

And as posted before, if you backup your data and file and other personal stuff, you can copy it back to the clean OS. Apps need to be reinstalled.
